What Activities can you do in the Grampians?

  • The Grampians is a place to bring overseas visitors to see native animals and birds in a unique landscape.
  • Interesting wildlife on our large 100 hectare property at Wartook Rise next to Grampians National Park.
  • Walk down to our lake at Sunset.
  • Watch alpine glow on Mt Difficult and see the moon rise above the mountain looking huge.
  • Close to major attractions eg McKenzie Falls, Fish Falls, Zumsteins,
  • Reeds Lookout has a fire lookout tower, walk along to the Balconies formerly called Jaws of Death, just like animal heads over space.  See sculpture along the route.
  • New hike from Zumsteins to Fish Falls, and on to McKenzie Falls is beautiful.  If you have two cars, do it the reverse way from McKenzie Falls and walking to the car left at Zumsteins.
  • Play in the river at Zumsteins, explore the historic trail to mudbrick cottages Zumsteins built.  We copied his design to some extent.
  • Three minutes to Wartook, with Happy Wanderer Resort Store and Petrol, ring a bell for both.  
  • Wanderinn mudbrick Cafe and Providore has fresh fish and chips Friday night till 7pm.
  • Mt Zero Cafe and Farmgate Store has interesting food, coffee and store with outstanding landscaping in a beautiful olive grove setting.
  • Toscana Olives has a Gourmet tasting room with chef praised oils and vinegars - open 7 days.
  • Newly opened Laharum Grove Restaurant has coffee and lunches Friday to Sunday, with special evening meals and functions by arrangement.
  • Thirty minutes to Halls Gap with Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural centre,Halls Gap Zoo and Stony Creek Icecream shop.

  • Walking and mountain biking on the property and adjacent Grampians Park trails.

  • The Grampians area is a photographers dream with abundant and approachable wildlife, magnificent panoramas and sunsets, beautiful wildflowers.
  • Yabby in the three dams with open nets or string lines.
  • Splash, swim and row in our lovely lake.  Oars, jackets supplied.
  • Watch the full moon come up over Mt Difficult in the heart of the Grampians.
  • See the Milky Way and Southern Cross bright in the sky.
  • Visit our beautiful and productive garden and feed the chickens and ducks.

  • Access to many scenic walking tracks including Mt Zero, Flat Rock, and the Wonderland Range of the Grampians. Mt Abrupt near Dunkeld
  • Cycling, both mountain and road.
  • Rock climbing and abseiling at Summer Day valley, Mt Difficult, Cherub Wall, Asses Ears, Mt Rosea.Guide Tory Dunn can take you  abseiling, bouldering and climbing.
  • Fishing, wading, splashing in McKenzie River pools and Lake Wartook. We give guidance to find the best Grampians fishing places.
