From Melbourne

Travel Western Highway to Ararat (200 km).

Continue on the Western Highway through Stawell and go another 23 km to Roses Gap Road. This road is 4km before Dadswells Bridge. It is near the 254 km post (from Melbourne) and a curved council sign. Just 2 km before this road is a Power Nap rest area and closer a koala sign.  There is no warning of the road.

Turn left on to the Roses Gap Road. The first 3km are good gravel & the rest is sealed asphalt. Follow this road, for about 28km from the highway to a “T intersection with theNorthern Grampians Road. Turn left and the Wartook Rise signposted driveway is on the right, about 6 km from the intersection. On the left you pass Samuels Road, and Carters Road, over a small rise and we are second gateway on the right.  There are multiple letter boxes at his gate, and a blue and white sign "Wartook Rise" points up the drive way.

Watch for wildlife particularly at dusk or in the dark, we have incredible richness in wild animals but few have road sense

As you come up the driveway, you will see our house and sheds on the right, your cabin is hard left. The road also goes straight on over the back valley to our lake. Go hard left, to the mudbrick building, your name will be on the door and the key in the door. We will come over before 10pm and make sure you have everything you need. Let us know what time you hope to arrive, if it is after dark, we can turn on lights etc.

From Adelaide

Travel from Adelaide on the road to Melbourne leaving South Australia just east Bordertown.  The road is now called Western Highway, and goes through Kaniva, Nhill, Dimboola and on to Horsham.  Horsham is a good place to buy supplies as the large variety of supermarkets have long opening hours.  Chickpea Cafe in Pysent Street has excellent coffee.  Late at night McDonalds is the best you can do.

Leave Horsham headed towards Melbourne, and 17 km out of town is a large Grampians sign.  Turn right just after this sign.  We are 30km along this road.  You pass through Laharum with school and oval, small hamlet of Wartook (Petrol and phone) we are about 5km along on the right.  On the left you pass Samuels Road, and Carters Road, over a small rise and we are second gateway on the right.  Watch for wildlife particularly at dusk or in the dark, we have incredible richness in wild animals but few have road sense.
